Silicon Valley entrepreneur and venture capitalist Jeff Miller, together with his philanthropic partner and wife, Karen, have given Santa Clara University $25 million to fuel its center dedicated to applying innovation and entrepreneurship approaches to address the needs of the global poor.
Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business today announced the generous gift of Phil and Peggy Holland's popular, free, online small business course content and business-training website (www.myownbusiness.org) together with $10 million for Santa Clara University to expand and improve the course, and to create the My Own Business Institute (MOBI) and a related fellows program.
Santa Clara University will celebrate the launch of construction of the 96,000-square-feet Howard S. and Alida S. Charney Hall of Law with a groundbreaking ceremony August 17 at noon. The event will feature remarks from SCU President Michael E. Engh, S.J., Dean of the School of Law Lisa Kloppenberg and donor and technology executive Howard S. Charney MBA ’73, J.D. ’77. Santa Clara Mayor Lisa M. Gillmor and Vice Mayor Teresa O'Neill will also be attending the event.
Santa Clara University will inaugurate the Edward M. Dowd Art and Art History building this fall, with our first classes in the space beginning September 19. The new facility provides the Art and Art History Department with over 43,000 square feet of instructional and creative space, and includes an art gallery and exterior sculpture garden.
